Couples Counseling
Couples counseling is best for couples who are interested in repairing their relationship, want to get their relationship back on track, or want to learn how to decide if you’re a great match for each other. Â Couples counseling can help provide the tools to revitalize a tired relationship or create and sustain a relationship that is healthy and happy.
Marriage Counseling
Studies show that when couples start having relationship problems, they wait an average of 7 years before seeking help. Building Blocks Family Counseling offers marriage counseling for couples who are invested in continuing to grow, connect, and engage with each other. This type of counseling can be helpful for relationship maintenance, staying connected, Â or for those who are beginning to notice that the “honeymoon phase” is fizzling. Marriage counseling is also a great tool for those who are planning a family and want to prepare for the adjustment and transition that comes along with bringing a baby home.
All Premarital, Couples, and Marriage counseling is based on The Gottman Method and includes the Gottman Relationship Check Up Assessment.Â
Discernment Counseling
Discernment counseling is offered for couples who are trying to decide if they want to stay together or split up, or for couples who have mixed agendas (one person wants to split, one person wants to stay together). This is designed for couples where the idea of a breakup, separation, or divorce is on the table for consideration. Our therapists can help you to weigh all the necessary factors to make a decision and support you in your decision. We will never tell you what you NEED to do, rather, we give you the space and the time to decide that for yourself.
